Bituminous laying temperatures (A2.9)

The laying temperatures for bituminous mixtures must be in accordance with Table A2.7.

For coated slag mixtures temperatures may be 10ºC lower than the recommended values. # = See Table A2.8 for the final rolling temperatures when chippings are applied to HRA surface courses. To achieve acceptable air voids, most materials will require greater compactive effort as the temperature approaches the lower limit. Additives are available which can be used to assist compaction at lower temperatures
